The Women In Bio (WIB) Washington DC/Baltimore Chapter along with the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) Bethesda Chapter are co-hosting this event to help you plan the next steps in your career. We will begin with a talk by executive career coach, Patricia Reich, followed by a one-on-one resume evaluation session with a professional recruiter. If you choose not to have your resume reviewed this time will be used network with other industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and researchers at the event.
“Interview as if it were the job of your lifetime,” says executive career coach Patricia Reich. If you are not only a great candidate, but a truly compelling interviewer, you can inspire hiring managers to optimize their job offers in terms of both monetary and non-monetary opportunities.
Everyone agrees that preparation is the key to a great interview and professionals understand that the average interview preparation takes between 8-10 hours, but what should you focus on during this time? Join Patricia as she walks you through the anatomy of the five-stage interview. She will then share her coaching insights regarding key rapport-building moments in the interview, when what you say and how you say it can create a more powerful connection and make an offer-winning impression.

Each member will get 15 minutes for a one-on-one resume review and critiquing session with a professional recruiter.
Patricia Reich is the assistant dean and executive director of the Office of Career Services at the Smith School of Business, where she stewards employment outcomes for undergraduate and graduate business student portfolios. Patricia comes to the Smith School from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, where she was a senior assistant dean of the MBA Career Center and director of executive career development. In her 10 years at McDonough, she worked extensively with business leaders from all over the world.
Patricia's forte is in career communications and how best to bring candidate assets to the talent market across media. She is particularly skilled at chiseling out and building up the strongest story line, then setting the strategy for career change. In her early career, Patricia excelled in the search profession. As a master recruiter, she led best practices in talent search, employer relationship development, and job search. Stemming from her decades-deep career in search, placement, and human resource management, Patricia understands first-hand the protocol and nuance of the employment dialogue. Many, many times, she has performed as the trusted agent in the brokering of introductions, interviews, and job offers.
Patricia holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and politics from Catholic University and an executive master’s degree in leadership from Georgetown. She is a Certified Career Management Coach and Certified Personal Brand Strategist. She is also currently pursuing her certification in Leadership Coaching at Georgetown’s Institute for Transformational Leadership.
