The University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health is consistently recognized as a leading public health school and is currently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the top public school of public health in the nation! The school’s mission is to improve public health, promote individual well-being, and eliminate health disparities across North Carolina and around the world.
This event will include an introduction to the school with a question and answer portion. The girls will then be taken on a tour of the school and the labs where they can meet with graduate students and faculty and learn about their research.
This event is open to rising 6th-12th grade girls. Advanced registration is required. Walk-ins will not be accepted and parents are unable to participate at the event. Closed-toe shoes and pants are a requirement to participate in the lab tours.

- It takes a while to park and find the School of Public Health so Students should factor that into arrival time.
- Directions: Those driving can park in the Dogwood Parking Deck, which is located across the street from the hospital. Parking costs $1.50/hour. Here is a link with directions to Dogwood: https://www.med.unc.edu/timetoconceive/directions-to-the-dogwood-deck-visitor-lot. From the Dogwood deck, the students will need to walk (~7 minutes) west on Manning Drive (the street that the hospital is on) to Columbia Street and make a right. The School of Public Health will be the first building on the left side of the street once you turn onto Columbia.
