BIO 2012 WIB Networking

WIB makes a splash at BIO2012

The 2012 BIO International Convention, which was hosted in Boston in the backyard of our newly formed WIB-Greater Boston chapter, was a tremendous success by all measures, thanks to the enthusiastic group of volunteers and members from WIB. At the WIB booth, more than 400 women (and men) stopped by from around the country and globe to learn more about WIB, how to become members of our organization, and how to start chapters in their respective countries/areas. Based on the impressive feedback throughout the week, it was clear there is an important need for Women In Bio on a global scale!

WIB had extremely successful turnouts at all three of our events at the Convention: the Monday Kick-Off networking event at Fish & Richardson, the Tuesday Meetup, and the Wednesday Speed Networking Session.

On Monday, overlooking a breathtaking view of Boston waterfront, members wined and dined on fabulous food while engaging in the ocean of conversations. Excitement was in the air for the arrival of BIO and what better way to show off Boston than with breathtaking views of the landscape.

On Tuesday, the BIO Convention started with a big bang, and Women In Bio was in the thick of the excitement. Our first Meetup attracted women from all over the world to casually network while enjoying drinks and delicious cookies.

On Wednesday, WIB hosted a well-attended and very active Speed Network session at the Meetup lounge in the heart of the Convention center. Attendees successfully made productive new connections while also catching up with old friends and colleagues.
