WIB-Greater Montreal Hosts "C-Suite" Dinner

On October 20, 2015, the Greater Montreal Chapter of Women In Bio cordially hosted several female senior executives in the Montreal Life Sciences industry at the inaugural “C-Suite” Dinner. The objectives of the dinner were to: 1) connect and encourage leaders to share preoccupations, opportunities, and challenges in our industry, particularly for women; 2) identify key areas to advance the careers of women in life sciences; 3) introduce attendees to the WIB Organization; and, 4) discuss how we can work together.

Intimate tables of 6 were set up to encourage candid discussion and interaction. Conversation was animated, and the guests expressed great enjoyment. Finally, opportunities to work together to support women in Life Sciences were identified. We would like to thank Bereskin & Parr LLP for so generously sponsoring the dinner and hosting it at their offices.

WIB-Greater Montreal 3rd Anniversary Celebration: “Unstoppable – Lessons in Tenacity," November 25, 2015

WIB-Greater Montreal once again celebrated its anniversary in grand fashion. For a third year running, the law firm Fasken Martineau sponsored our event at their downtown offices. As a nod to inspiring women everywhere, the theme of this year’s anniversary was to highlight the extraordinary accomplishments of our Canadian Paralympic athletes. Regrettably, our guest of honor, wheelchair racing champion Chantal Petitclerc, could not attend. In her place, and demonstrating true Olympic spirit, Canadian gold medal Paralympic swimmer Benoît Huot accepted our last minute invitation. He spoke about his own journey in becoming a competitive athlete, while also graciously acknowledging the inspiration and support given to him by his female colleagues, such as Chantal. The evening ended with a buzzing networking session, complimented with delicious hors d'oeuvres and wine. Not a bad way to top off another fantastic year!

WIB-Greater Montreal and Fasken Martineau would like to give a special thanks to all the attendees, as portion of each ticket fee will be donated to the Canadian Paralympic Committee.

Paralympic champion, Benoît Huot, shared his inspiring story.

The evening ended with a buzzing networking session, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and wine.
