EWIB Breakfast: The Fight for Women in Science – Past and Present (a Fireside Chat)

The Executive Women In Bio Breakfast on June 16th kicked off a busy week for Women In Bio at BIO. The event had a fantastic turnout, and the conversation between Nancy Hopkins and Kate Zernike was inspirational and informative. Some key takeaways from their discussion included:

  • The history-making fight for equal opportunity of sixteen women at MIT led by Hopkins
  • A glimpse into the competitive, hierarchical world of elite science
  • The importance of cultivating a community of women within the field of life sciences

Plenary Event: Flipping the Script – Powerful Narratives in Women’s Health Innovation

The Women In Bio Plenary event featured an exceptional panel of well-known women, including Seema Kumar, CEO of Cure; Kristen Dahlgren, Founder/CEO of Cancer Care Coalition; and Claire Love, Partner at PwC, moderated by Women In Bio’s President and Board Chair, Dianne Keen-Kim. The conversation centered around women’s healthcare, the importance of data, and the evolution of women’s care. The call to action to the audience was to continue advocating for your health and other women’s health, when and where you can.

Speed Networking at the Convention - On the Exhibition Floor Booth #3584

Women In Bio held a high energy speed networking event on the BIO International Convention floor. Attendees were divided into two circles, an inner and outer circle facing each other. Each pair had three minutes to talk before Gina’s bell rang signaled the inner circle to rotate, creating new pairs and new conversations. This continued throughout the event, giving members the chance to meet and speak with many in a short amount of time.

Sip, Savor & Socialize - Women In Bio Executive Cohorts Networking

During the busy BIO International Conference week in Boston, Women In Bio (WIB) hosted an engaging and well attended Networking Happy Hour event bringing together professionals from across the life sciences industry. Held at the Genesis building at 12 Farnsworth Street, guests enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere with a selection of wine, beverages, and assorted finger foods and appetizers. The room was buzzing with attendees building new relationships, exchanging contact information, and engaging in insightful discussions about career growth, industry trends, and the power of community in biotech.
